BMW Z3 for Sale

The Z3 sits on the E36/5 compact platform, a shortened E36 that keeps the semi-trailing arm rear suspension of the older E30 3 Series, with a strut front axle taken largely from the regular E36. From 2000 the DSC stability control integrates the Dynamic Brake Control and Automatic Differential Brake functions, and the range weighs between 1,160 and 1,400 kg. The roadster is a two-seater, 4,025 mm long and 1,692 mm wide on a 2,446 mm wheelbase. Six-cylinder cars are recognised by their dual tailpipes, and the 1999 facelift brought L-shaped tail lights, a three-layer insulated soft top with headlining, a new three-spoke steering wheel and dual-stage side airbags.

The Z3 was the first BMW model built solely outside Germany, at Greer in South Carolina, from September 1995 to June 2002. The 3.0i replaced the 2.8 in 2000, when the straight-sixes moved from the M52 to the M54, and it sat just below the M Roadster. One source counts 14,525 roadsters with this engine before the E85 Z4 took over.
