BMW Isetta for Sale

The BMW Isetta uses an air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder from BMW's motorcycles, mounted crosswise behind the bench, in two sizes: the 245-cc unit of the Isetta 250 and the 298-cc unit of the Isetta 300, offered from February 1956, rated at 12 PS (8.8 kW) at 5,800 rpm on the 250 and 13 PS (9.6 kW) at 5,200 rpm on the 300, stronger on hills but no faster: both are quoted at 85 km/h.

The BMW Isetta drives through a four-speed gearbox without synchromesh plus reverse, and a shaft with rubber joints driving a duplex chain in an oil bath; the rear wheels sit 52 cm apart, so there is no differential.
