About the Ferrari 330 America

Beneath it sits the 250 GT/E 2+2's steel tube frame, with double wishbones in front, a live rear axle on leaf springs and hydraulic disc brakes at every wheel. Pininfarina's body, steel with aluminium doors and lids, is the 250 GT/E's too, and only the America script some cars wear on the boot lid tells them apart. It keeps the 250 GT/E's 2+2 layout on a 2,600 mm wheelbase, with two full seats in front and two smaller ones behind.

A stopgap urged by the American importer Luigi Chinetti, the 330 America put the first 50 Tipo 209 engines into 250 GT/E bodies assembled by Pininfarina at Grugliasco in late 1963, before the 330 GT 2+2 replaced it in January 1964.
