About the Porsche 718

The 982 generation, built from 2016 to 2025, brought turbocharged flat-fours in place of the flat-six: 2.0 litres at 300 PS and 2.5 at 350. The six came back in 2020 on the GTS 4.0, the GT4, the Spyder and the GT4 RS, a naturally aspirated 4.0 litres from 400 to 500 PS. A six-speed manual and the seven-speed PDK were both offered.

The 718 name comes from the sports racing car Porsche built from 1957 to 1962, which won the Targa Florio in 1959, 1960 and 1963 on a 1.5-litre Fuhrmann four-cam engine. Porsche has built cars at Zuffenhausen since 1950.
