Ferrari F512 M for Sale

The twin radiators sit beside the engine at the rear rather than in the nose, which removes a long run of piping and keeps the cabin cooler; the side strakes that feed them were demanded by countries that outlawed large body openings. The whole drivetrain and suspension drop out from underneath as a single unit so that the engine and its timing belts can be serviced, and the weight split is 42 per cent front, 58 per cent rear. The F512 M dropped the pop-up headlamps for fixed units and added twin NACA ducts to the front lid. Inside, the pedals are drilled aluminium, air conditioning became standard, and carbon fibre racing buckets weighing 14.97 kg were available at no extra cost.

The M stands for modificata. Shown at the Paris salon in October 1994 and built until early 1996 in 501 examples, 75 of them right-hand drive, it closed the Testarossa line and was the last Ferrari with a flat-12. The name goes back to the 250 Testa Rossa of 1957 and to the red-painted cam covers both cars carry.
