Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 for Sale

The chassis is a tubular spaceframe based on that of the Dino 246, stretched to a 2,550 mm wheelbase to make room for the second row of seats. Suspension is fully independent, with double wishbones, anti-roll bars, coaxial telescopic dampers and coil springs on both axles; the tyres are 205/70 VR14 Michelin XWX and the dry weight is 1,150 kg. The GT4 is a 2+2 coupé, 4,300 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,180 mm high, and the only production Ferrari with a Bertone body, drawn by Marcello Gandini in sharp, angular shapes. Enzo Ferrari took a major role in its design and had a mock-up built in which he could sit to test the positions of the steering wheel, pedals and seats.

Shown at the Paris Motor Show in October 1973, the 308 GT4 was the first production Ferrari with a rear mid-mounted V8. It wore Dino badges until May 1976, then the Prancing Horse; the earlier series has a twin-distributor engine and fog lamps mounted in the front valance. 2,826 were built before the Mondial 8 replaced it in 1980.
