About Auto Leitner

Auto Leitner is an independent dealer in collector cars and modern classics in Alkmaar, in the province of Noord-Holland, about forty kilometres north of Amsterdam. It trades from a single hall on Parelweg, a few streets from the AZ stadium, and it opens by appointment only rather than as a walk-in forecourt.

The business was founded by Douwe Leitner, who still owns and runs it. He began washing cars by hand at fourteen, started out buying and selling from home without capital behind him, and built the company up to the hall it occupies today. That history shows in what the firm buys: cars chosen for condition and mileage rather than for turnover, frequently first-owner examples, often kept in the hall for as long as it takes to find the right buyer.

The stock listed on LUSSO is led by Mercedes-Benz, which accounts for roughly half of it, from a 190 and a 300 SL R107 through 560 SEC widebodies by Brabus and ABC to an SL65 AMG Black Series, a C63 AMG Black Series and a Brabus-converted S580 Maybach. Ferrari follows with a 308 GTS, a 512 TR, an F512 M, two 575M and a 488 GTB, and there are three Lamborghini including a Diablo GTR Evolution, three Rolls-Royce, and single cars from Porsche, BMW, Audi, Land Rover and Morgan.

Prices are published in euros, and each listing states whether the car is sold under the margin scheme or with VAT. Leitner Legacy Cars, the firm's off-market investment arm, is a separate activity: those cars are not part of its published inventory and do not appear on LUSSO.
