About VDM Cars

VDM Cars is an independent dealer in investment and sports cars at Gronau in North Rhine-Westphalia, a few hundred metres from the Dutch border. It trades as VDM Cars GmbH, registered at Coesfeld, and keeps its administration across the border at Hengelo in the Netherlands. The showroom on Otto-Hahn-Strasse is the only place the cars are, and viewings there are by appointment, including in the evening.

The firm describes itself as an independent international operator and buys for condition and specification rather than for turnover. Its own summary of what it sells is young-timers, investment cars and sports cars, and the stock bears that out: the collection listed on LUSSO runs from a McLaren P1 and a 964 Carrera RS through to a Panamera Sport Turismo, with a long run of Ferrari in the middle.

What distinguishes this stock is how much of it has been through a tuner. Novitec N-Largo widebody conversions account for five Ferrari, among them cars from runs of 11, 15 and 18; Brabus accounts for four Mercedes and two Porsche, including a Rocket R from a run of 25; and there are Mansory conversions of a Bentley Bentayga and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Alongside them sit entirely standard cars, several with Ferrari Classiche certification or unbroken main-dealer service records.

VDM also sells a small number of limited-edition motorcycles, which appear in the motorcycle catalogue rather than among the cars: an Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma, three Ducati, two Brabus-bodied KTM and a Yamaha R1 GYTR Pro. Prices are published in euros, and each listing states whether the figure is the export price excluding VAT or a total price under the margin scheme.
